Prisoner Alert

The Voice of the Martyrs (VOM) is an organization dedicated to aiding Christians who are being persecuted around the world. They do this through many ways, such as meeting the physical needs of believers in hostile areas, helping the families of church leaders who have been imprisoned, and making believers in the USA aware of how we can help our brothers and sisters who are sharing in the sufferings of Christ daily (just to name a few of the ways they help.)

I mention all of this to tell you one of the ways that you can be involved. VOM has a service called "Prisoner Alert" and it inables you to receive updates via email of prisoners in various countries. They give you some background on the believer that is being held, let you know how to pray for them, and provide you with the ability to actually "write" them a note of encouragement in their own language and/or write to the government to bring attention to their situation.

By logging on to Prisoner Alert, you can sign up to receive these emails. It is a practical way to reach out to fellow believers and let them know that, as members of the Body of Christ, we stand with them.
