"He's being too quiet..."

I just finished giving him lunch. He adamently assured me that he was "all done!" Couldn't manage another bite of chicken or canteloupe or yogurt--just stuffed! So I wipe him off and set him on the floor. He gets busy working on his highchair (I'm beginning to think that thing will never be fixed.)

I sneak off--for just a minute!--to go check my email. I usually have about 5.3 seconds to do that before I am busted and have to postpone computer time. But today, several minutes passed. And it was really quiet. Not good.

And this is what I find.

He managed to reach the yogurt I left on his highchair tray and help himself to what he was just too full to polish off earlier.

What makes this all the more funny is that earlier this morning, he approaches me while I am on the phone with no diaper and a not-so-fresh aroma about him. He had taken his diaper off behind the couch and then crawled over to me to finish the job. You will be glad to know there are no pictures of that.

So after a busy day of feeding and changing himself, let's just say naptime cannot come soon enough.

Dangit! This is a freaking "mommy blog" isn't it?

Yes, it is..but that's ok..it was a "funny" mommy blog, so that makes up for it! :0)

With Caleb, I never had to worry about the quiet. He usually had nice, safe ways of keeping himself occupied. (like reading books, or playing with his cars.)

Cora, on the other hand..if I don't hear her for about 2-5 minutes, it means something (like a blender, a phone bill, my best watch, or favorite earrings) is destroyed.

And look on the bright side, at least he came to YOU with the dirty present earlier..my daughter liked to hide it somewhere, so that I had to hunt by smell....uugghh

Oh no. Were you talking to me when the excremental deed occurred? I hope it wasn't his not so subtle critique of our conversation. Of course, this means the days of walking around pantsless are over now that he's figured out the velcro tabs.

No--the excremental deed occurred earlier :) Maybe I can start putting on his diapers backwards so we don't have to resort to always wearing pants now. That would be a tough one for him.

I love Asher, man! He is so funny and adorable and smart! Look at him using that spoon! He's got some serious skills. And taking off his diaper for you--how sweet! :) I know it was gross, but it was hilarious at the time. :)
